Big
Brothers Big Sisters works!
An
independent study conducted by Public/Private Ventures (P/PV)
shows the success of our program. This study compared children
on the Ready to be Matched with those who had a Big Brother or Big
Sister. Those matched were:
- 46%
less likely to begin using illegal drugs
- 27%
less likely to begin using alcohol
- 52%
less likely to skip school
- 37%
less likely to skip a class
- 33%
less likely to hit someone
- More
confident in their performance in schoolwork
- Had
better relationships with their families
