Our mission

Our mission is to provide the highest quality volunteers and professional services for children between the ages of 7-14 and primarily from single parent homes to assist them in achieving their greatest potential through one-to-one long-term, safe relationship between the Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteers and the children.

Volunteer as a family

Happy Family Participating as a Big Couple is an ideal way for a married couple to volunteer together and help a child at the same time. Most of our couples are matched with Little Brothers because we have so many on the waiting list.

Big Brothers Big Sisters works!

A recent independent study conducted by Public/Private Ventures (P/PV) shows the success of our program. This study compared children on the waiting list with those who had a Big Brother or Big Sister. Those matched were:

46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
27% less likely to begin using alcohol
52% less likely to skip school
37% less likely to skip a class
33% less likely to hit someone
More confident in their performance in schoolwork
Had better relationships with their families
